Drug interactions: Interacts with Doxycycline. Check with doctor before using Tetracycline with Barberry.

Description: It is one of the best liver herbs.

Internal uses: It has been used for biliousness, liver trouble, and loss of appetite, enlarged spleen, constipation, jaundice, diarrhea, anemia and blood building. It is especially powerful for correcting liver disorders by helping the bile to flow more freely. For a mild dose it is a laxative and in larger doses, a purgative. A tonic for debilitated conditions; regulates the digestive system. It has also been used for high blood pressure, dysentery, fevers, sluggish gallbladder, indigestion, infections, pyorrhea, syphilis and typhoid fever. It has also been good for infection, parasites, psoriasis and vaginitis.

External uses: Also offers potential as an eye tonic, and has been used as a gargle and a mouthwash for sore throats.

Suggested dosage: Tincture: 2 –5 ml before meals.

Caution: Do not use if pregnant. Not for long term use (2 weeks).
