Botanical name: Barosma betulina

Origin: S. Africa

Therapeutic actions: Anti-lithic; Antiseptic; Astringent; Antispasmodic; Carminative, Diuretic; Diaphoretic; Lithotriptic; Stomachic, Sudorific; Stimulant; Tonic.

Nutrients: Calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, vitamins B1, B2, and B3.

Drug interactions: Interacts with Loop Diuretics, Spironolactone, Thiazide Diuretics, and Triamterene.

Description: Lessons the inflammation in the gums, colon and the mucous membranes. A specific for bladder infections. Every time you drink a cup of Buchu tea, bacteria-killing oils pass through the urinary tract.

Internal uses: It has been used for gravel and urinary difficulties, for weakness of the bladder with mucus discharges, for dropsy and urine stoppage and for diabetes in the early stages. It has been used to produce perspiration, soothe prostate enlargement and irritation of the urethra membrane.

Suggested dosage: 1—2 grams 3 times daily with meals. Tincture: 2—4 ml 3 times daily.
