Therapeutic actions: Anti-cholesterolemic; Anti-rheumatic; Anti-oxidant; Choleretic; Cholagogue; Digestive; Diuretic; Hepatic; Hypoglycemic; Lithontriptic.

Nutrients: Potassium, Iron, Magnesium, Vitamins A and C.

Drug interactions: May potentiate anti-cholesterol medications.

Description: Artichoke Leaf has been used in the treatment of dyspeptic and hepatic disorders due to poor assimilation of fat because of insufficient bile secretion.

Internal Use: It has been used for abdominal pain, appetite, bile, cholesterol, constipation, digestion, dyspepsia, flatulence, gallstones, liver, nausea, triglycerides, diabetes, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), gallbladder, high cholesterol, hypertension, anemia, diarrhea, fevers, ulcers and gout.

Suggested dosage: 1–4 grams 3 times daily.

CAUTION: Do not take if you have gall stones or bile duct occlusion.
