Botanical name:  Viburnum opulus

Origin:  USA

Therapeutic actions:  Antispasmodic; Astringent; Anti-Inflammatory; Birthing Aid; Emmenagogue; Hypotensive; Nervine; Sedative

Nutrients:  Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Selenium and Zinc

Description:  Used mostly for muscle spasms and pain.

Internal uses:  It has been used for muscle and nervous relaxant for cramping pains, colic and the treatment of asthma. Especially helpful with cramping associated with pregnancy, menstrual pain and spasms after childbirth. It has also been used to prevent miscarriage (often combined with black haw).

Caution:  Do not use if you have ulcers.

In the last 62 years, Truman has researched and studied with many of the world’s greatest advocates of natural healing, including Dr. John R. Christopher. He also was the Executive Director of Sales for Nature’s Herbs. He founded Health & Herbs a not-for-profit Unincorporated Private Member Association that is an outreach of Good Shepherd Ministries. Truman is a member of the, American Herb Association, American Botanical Council, and Herb Research Foundation. He has created more than 14,000 natural remedies in the forms of extracts, teas, powders, salves, creams, lotions, capsules and tablets and more.
