Botanical name:  Coptis chinesis

Origin:  China

AKA CHINESE GOLDTHREAD

Therapeutic actions:  Alterative, Anti-Inflammatory, Laxative In Small Doses, Stomachic, Antiparasitic, Antifungal, Antibacterial, Antioxidant

Drug interactions:  No known drug interactions.

Description:  Mainly used to stimulate bile and digestion.

Internal uses:  It is indicated with lazy digestion, gastric pain and infectious conditions of the intestinal tract or infectious conditions with general inflammation. Coptis chinensis, goldenseal and Oregon grape root is a choleretic shown to triple bile secretion for 1.5 hours and is effective against bacteria, yeast and protozoa.

Suggested dosage:  4-6 ml 2-3 times daily

Caution:  It is contraindicated in pregnancy due to uterine stimulation, unless used under the guidance of a qualified health care practitioner.

He also was the Executive Director of Sales for Nature’s Herbs. He founded Health & Herbs a not-for-profit Unincorporated Private Member Association that is an outreach of Good Shepherd Ministries. Truman is a member of the, American Herb Association, American Botanical Council, and Herb Research Foundation. He has created more than 14,000 natural remedies in the forms of extracts, teas, powders, salves, creams, lotions, capsules and tablets and more.
